I know I'm a little early with this post, particularly for my American readers, but I'm going to be pretty busy over the next few days, so better to post now while I have the time.
Firstly, a random fact for non-Romans - during the month of November extra buses are put on serving the city's cemeteries because of the importance that Italians put on visiting their dead at this time of the year.
Secondly, I have to link to Newman's Dream of Gerontius. One could do much worse than make this one's spiritual reading for at least some of November, or even listen to Elgar's Oratorio which is very faithful to Newman's vision.
